Aimee Weaver Designs

I have been a long time card carrying fan of Aimee Weaver Designs. Seriously y'all, every single thing in her shop gives me all the heart eyes. I love how she makes some of her pieces unique with the vintage inspired hardware.

I fell in love with this sign as soon as I saw it. It's the perfect verse to display in my house, since I've got 3 boys that are growing into little men. I want them to be men of courage.

I was blown away when this thing arrived. It was so much bigger than it looked in the photos, and is super sturdy and well made. Pictures just don't do it justice!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My love for signs began when I started following Aimee Weaver's blog a loooong time ago. Every single one she posted had me all googly-eyed.

I love that so many of her signs are scripture or inspirational quotes. I chose this one because we are really working to ground this into our children. Any reminder sitting around the house is a good thing, right? ;)

This one has a gray distressed look and I wish my pictures could capture the true beauty of it!

They are so unique with her beautiful painting hand and style. These are not mass produced by a machine, but hand painted and put together. That takes a lot of time, folks! And, that barn wood? A. MA. ZING. These signs are solid!

I'm sure you will be seeing it make its' rounds about the house. It would match any room décor I have.

Please head over and check out Aimee Weaver Designs. Let her know the Chapel Cottage Chicks sent ya!

Ahhhh....Spring!

Guys, it is a glorious 70 degree sunshiny day and this girl is soaking it UP. Just makes me giddy all over for SPRING!
We're cleaning out flower beds and wearing our flip flops.
Good times, I tell ya.

My living room is very neutral, so I don't have to do much to transition from winter decor to spring.
(That's why I love my neutrals!)
But, hey, nothing says spring quite like tulips, am I right?!
Put out some tulips, and wham, you've got spring decor.

I'm also LOVING the new gray and white check pillow covers from IKEA. You just can't go wrong at 2.99 apiece.

Do y'all think God can speak to you while you're shopping at Hobby Lobby? He certainly can. He doesn't often nudge me to buy stuff, but today, I was browsing through the store and came across this tiny little sign. It was just like God spoke directly to me through that little sign on the shelf.
He said "hey, Sis, you need that.
You need that reminder to let Me handle it all for you."
And He was right. (He always is...)
I've got so many things whirling around in my mind,
concerns, worries, decisions...we all do.
But I felt a load lift off me when I realized He's got this, and I don't have to worry about it!
So yeah, that little sign, my own little hug from God,
 came home with me today.

Church Picture

Rarely do I see something on Instagram and think, "Oh, I have to have that!" There are lots of, "Ooooh, that's pretty!" or "If I found that at a yard sale, wouldn't that be awesome?" Now, let's clear up the "have" part...I don't have to "have" anything, but the church theme (being a pastor's home, here), the colors matching my dresser, and the fact that it came from Kirklands so it would be closer to my budget than some fancy online company had me reeeeeealllly wanting this picture. *Yes, I'm fully aware that previous sentence would flunk me out of English grammar class.

We were in town with a Kirklands and so I ran in to see if they had them. There was one on the shelf and I picked it up, but there was no price tag. I sat it back down and wandered around the store. Finally, I decided to just ask the cashier and if it was too much, I'd just turn it down. After more than one person looking it up in their data base and finally finding it in their books behind the counter, they found the price and it was even on sale! Saweet!

For now, I have it above my dresser. It's a different shape than most pics, so it was a little more challenging to style. And, if you've been around here for awhile, you know it'll move eventually. ;)

The Table Transfer

I shared on Instagram, a few months back, that I had moved our table into the "piano room" once we put down laminate flooring. I can not remember if I posted here, so just in case I did not, I moved our table into the "piano room." You're welcome. ;)

I liked the switch, but it took up the space we were used to having as a walk-thru. Brittany mentioned moving the table off to the side, but I couldn't try it until after the Christmas chaos was put back into place.

I'm kinda really liking it!

Of course, that meant I had to move some wall décor.

You probably remember my giant chalkboard that used to be in the kitchen.

Now I have to find something for that wall. It's a vicious cycle in this house, I'm tellin' ya!

We bought this table at a yard sale right after we were married. Hubs gave a it a fresh sanding and coat of stain last fall. Looks much better than my "wing-it" job. I'm pretty sure we've gotten our 10 bucks worth.

The toolbox was found in my hubby's grandparents' barn. Those trusty Ikea plants made great filler. BTW...they are $2 cheaper than last year...just a free plug. HA!

If you're paying attention, you'll see a sneak peak of something else we switched up.

Sending spring thoughts,

Mantel; Take 2,849

Shockers! The o' mantel has gone through another overhaul. Seriously, though, it's 70 degrees outside and the sun is shining brightly. That means, "So long, winter décor!" Tomorrow we will probably have a snow storm. This winter has been very unique.
I've been craving simplicity and less clutter. So, I rummaged around in the things I already had. Naturally, I'll have to fix the spot I removed them from, but it's what I do. HA!

Farmhouse Living Room

I do not even remotely live in a farmhouse, or even in the country, but I love the décor that is popping up everywhere! Perhaps I am what they are calling "modern farmhouse." Basically, we're "wannabe's." HA!

Slowly, but surely, I've been making some changes to my living room.

I have had these feeders for a couple of months. I picked them up at this cool shop that had a lot of vintage reproductions. I had a spot in the house all picked out, but alas, like usual, they did not work there. So, life got busy and I just threw them in my bench where I keep my extra decorations. They were forgotten about for a bit until I opened the lid needing something. Gasp!! The poor little things needed something done with them.
One of the problems was that I wasn't sure what to put in them besides greenery. I am pretty sure I am breaking some kind of décor decorum rule by using too much. Instead of a farmhouse, I live in a fake greenhouse. :) On the other hand, is there such a thing as too much greenery?
This fan is also about to take a hike. I found something on a recent trip to Franklin, TN with the hubs that I'm hoping he can fanigglerig into a light.
The sun is shining today and done a wonder to the o' mood! We have had lots of rain and it has just lifted my spirits! Be blessed today, friends!

Be Still....

...and know that I am God.
I don't have to worry about anything - He's got this.

Just a little encouragement for your Wednesday!

Heaven Sent

Tis the season for baby showers.

This past weekend I hosted a shower for a lady from our church. I snapped a couple of pics in case it might give someone else an idea. I didn't go "all out," but it still turned out festive.

Remember me sharing my spring mantel? Well, it was pink and girly looking and this was a boy theme, so I rearranged my mantel for only about the 3rd or 4th time this year. Hey, who's counting?

I made the pennant out of kraft cardstock and the Cricut. I just cut out some cloud shapes to separate the words.

I had to decorate a table for a baby shower a couple months ago at our homeschool group. I actually used my brain for once and made sure to do a theme I could save and use for this one. Sometimes I have it together. Most times I don't.

What's a party without some snacks?

Reason 254 to love HomeGoods;  because when you're waiting in line to check out there is a bunch of random items to browse. I glanced over and saw these cloud marshmallows and probably became a little too excited. I knew they went perfect with the theme and threw them in the cart. While I was getting everything together, it dawned on me that they would make a cute cupcake topper. I just stuck them with toothpicks, first.

I decided I liked my mantel this way and left it...minus the balloons.

Thinking PINK!

I've been stuck in this room, with a vaporizer under my nose for a few days now. Pneumonia just isn't my cup of tea. So, I was feeling a bit better today and ventured out of the house looking for something to lift my spirits.
Enter T.J. Maxx.
It works every time.

I saw these gorgeous spring pink and mint pillows and I was smitten. It was just what I needed to inspire me to clean up my room and fluff it a bit.

The azalea blooms are just the icing on the cake. Yummy color!!

And now I'm exhausted, gasping for breath, reaching for the inhaler, and I'm ready to crawl back in this bed.

Hey, if I gotta be sick, I'm gonna do it in a pretty room.

Spring Bedroom Refresh

Spring is the perfect time to put out some pops of fun color here and there. I've always been a fan of yellow - hey, it's the color of sunshine! Makes me happy. It's a great color to use as an accent in my bedroom - goes so well with the neutrals.
I've had the lamp shades (from Target) for several years, and I've never gotten tired of them. Target's my jam. The "Kiss me Under the Light of a Thousand Stars" pillow is from my etsy shop, The Parsonage Queen.

The chalk art print is from Dear Lillie.

The bedroom mantel got a bit of Spring splashed on it too.

For a quick and simple spring vase, I hung some clear glass milk bottles with strings of jute, then put some yellow flowering branches in them. Neither mind blowing nor original, but it works.

Walmart really stepped up their game with these galvanized trays! They have several different ones, this round one with wood handles was under $8. Not bad!
