We're two preacher's wives that have been friends online via blogs and Facebook for the last few years. We discovered that we have so many things in common, we are both crazy over farmhouse style cottage decor, we both get a high from finding treasures in thrift shops, shoot, we even have a child with the same name. We met in person for the first time this past April, and we were like 2 sisters that had been separated. :)
We started talking about the idea of doing a joint blog together, and it just sounded like so much fun, so after much thinking and tossing ideas back and forth, here we are!
I'm Brittany, some of you probably know me from my old blog, The Painted Parsonage. I've been married to my favorite preacher for 16 years, and we have 3 extremely energetic and totally hilarious boys that keep us super busy and constantly exhausted. We live in an old craftsman style parsonage that was built around the turn of the century, and I absolutely love it.
I love all things vintage, from fashion to home decor. I'd rather listen to an old vinyl record than an mp3 any day. I am addicted to remodeling, I get a thrill out of taking something old and shabby, finding the beauty in it, and bringing it back to life, all on a small budget of course. I generally have about 47 projects going on at once, because my brain keeps coming up with another idea that I just *have* to try. I enjoy all sorts of crafty things, from painting to sewing, even though sometimes I'm certain my sewing machine hates me. I enjoy dabbling in photography. I get super stoked about things like great light, catchlights, and bokeh. Consequently, my boys are all sick of having a camera stuck in their face. I've discovered that a little bribery makes them quite cooperative.
I am a Southern girl through and through. I love summer time, and flip flops. When I need recharged, there's just no place like the beach. It's the best therapy in the world. I'm super shy, especially around people I don't know very well. People that don't know me think I'm "so quiet". Nah, not really. I'm not a big fan of crowds or cities. I love living in our small hometown.
I spend most of my time tinkering around the house, taking care of my husband, 3 precious boys, and one spoiled rotten kitty cat named Molly. Jesus is my very best friend, and I thank Him every day for the wonderful life He's given me. I hope I can be a blessing to somebody through blogging.
Hey, everyone! My name is Jenny-wife to an incredible man, mommy to the 3 most beautiful children in the world (just ask me), and pastor's wife for almost three years. I have craftiness ADD. Seriously, I tell my hubby if I could focus on one type of outlet I might actually get really good at something. I like to dabble in decorating, DIY, photography, paper crafts, painting signs, and finding a great bargain. My favorite places to find deals are thrift stores, yard sales, and Hobby Lobby. My brain is always full of ideas, but my tired body nixes half of them. If only I had Mary Poppins' magical snap...
I love special moments talking with Jesus. I will 97% of the time always choose comfort over fashion. I have a fetish for shoes and purses. I love neat handwriting. I do not like coffee-Speedway Coke slushies are my favorite drink treat. I am not a fan of crowds. I'm self-conscious and fake it. I like vintage. I do not like cooking. I love getting fun mail. I like old music like The Carpenters and Dean Martin. I was born in the wrong era. I love listening to my children talk. Peanut M&M's are dangerous once the first one is consumed. I like my head scratched. Shopping is my favorite hobby. I think it would be fun to own a store of lots of random goodness. My Grandma's cream pie is incredible. I'd rather have daisies than roses. I want my children to possess common sense. I always have music playing. I'm a kid at heart when it comes to Christmas. I like playing games with my family. My greatest desire is to go to Heaven and to take as many as I can with me.
Thank you, you are very inspiring!
