Coffee Bar

Just skip the measly cup and someone invent a coffee IV, already. Anyone else? I'm talking gallons per unit. Where there is no need to sip due to burning your tongue, but it flows straight to your bloodline with all of its caffeine goodness. One punch of the button and you instantly jolt back alive and kick up your heels to start the day! Could someone get on that, please? Thanks.

Continuing on with the actual point of this post...

I recently, recently being used very loosely, purchased a hanging scale from my SIL. I have wanted one for a long time and finally took the plunge and bought it.

Here is where she, the scale-not my SIL, hangs:

Purdy, ain't it? I used to have the coffee maker on the other side, but it was a little inconvenient trying to fill the water up. Especially when it's dark outside and you're trying to get the day started before the munchkins and your eyes refuse to open and your hands won't budge to work.
See that cute little tea towel reminding you of that blessed goodness called pie? It's from So Vintage Chic and she is offering our followers a coupon: CHAPELCOTTAGE. Let me know what you couldn't live without.
If you'll excuse me, I'm off to invent that IV and to make my fame and fortune in this world.

Kitchen Flooring

Well, I cleaned my kitchen, so I thought I'd take some pictures to document the rarity. I wish I was kidding...

My favorite hubby got the new flooring put in. I. LOVE. IT. It's from Lowe's and I'm 99% sure it's called Harvest Chestnut. It's a laminate, but it has several colors and details to resemble an older hardwood. Which translates to, it helps hide the dirt! And, since the cleaning has already been documented as rare, this is a must.

Isn't it purdy?? Sigh...

Since we replaced the white linoleum with a darker color, it did close in the space a little more, but there is a lot of natural light in there, so it's all good.

I'm thinking that I eventually want to add an island with some bar stools. This would give me some more counter space to prep things and then we could take out the table and chairs. I have plans for hubby to build me a farmhouse table to go in the dining room/piano room. So many plans, so little time.

All signs are from Down Grace Lane. Link in sidebar.

I had been wanting one of these scales FOREVER and Décor Steals finally had one as the deal of the day.

My latest yard sale purchase: $0.50 rolling pins. The lady asked what I was going to do with them thinking I had something crafty planned. Hubs told her, "Beat me with them." HA! We'll see how the farmhouse table persuasion goes and I'll let you know if his fortune came true. I kid, I kid! That dude is awesome!

And, for those who like to see the progress pictures:

May I Freshen Up Your Coffee?

Or, coffee bar?

It all started on the clearance aisle of Hobby Lobby. I had been wanting a tiered tray, but they were either out of my price range or too tall. I spotted this one and it was just the right height. I checked the price and there was that pretty yellow sticker that said, "Buy me. I'm on clearance." But, alas, it had this huge heart on the top and well, I'm just not into hearts that much. Upon further investigation, I noticed that the heart twisted off. So, I boogied over to the knob and handle aisle and wouldn't you know they were also on sale. Fate, I tell ya. I just knew this tray was to be mine. HAHA!!! So, after many knob fittings, we found one that matched and agreed on-Mom, my two sisters, and hubby. I think my 7 year old might have also given her opinion, as well.
Now, if you're a regular on Instagram and Blogger, you'll notice all kinds of these trays loaded up with cute little decorations. I needed mine to be functional. Coffee, of course, because it's a coffee bar.
It also hides my sugar-free chocolate. Hee hee! I'm also looking for a little sugar packet holder for my Stevia, but now that I want one, they're no where to be found.

This little green tin was also on clearance at Hobby Lobby. It's my favorite color and has the whole farmhouse charm, so I got it with the intention of sitting it in my window sill. However, it was too big and so it's making it's debut here on my eBay scales.
The galvanized clock is a new arrival at Ikea. It was only $5.99 and I was digging it, so it came home with me. It was also too big for it's original destination, by like an inch, and fit perfectly here. The plates all came from Goodwill, as did the pie safe.
Stay warm and have a blessed day!

Brittany and I have been on the same brain wave apparently, because we're painting and freshening up the living room and hopefully some other rooms. However, ours is still in the disaster stage, so it'll have to wait to make an appearance on here.
