Fireplace Makeover

We've been busy little beavers around here...tis the season. Once fall hits-BAM!

We have managed to get a project underway. I decided to brighten up the living room and paint the fireplace. It's not decorated yet. I'm just going to go ahead and use Christmas. All the totes need brought up and you know the story. But, I thought I'd give ya a sneak peek.

I think I'm going to like it. It's actually taking a little bit getting used to. It feels like something is missing because there was a dark area there so long.
You can also see the "wood" needs added back. HA!

We used
first to cover the brick. Then we just painted with a paint/primer mix.

Lessons I learned:

~I need to dust more.

~I apparently have carpal tunnel, as my wrist and hand ached the next day!

~Ya need to load your paintbrush and slather it on. The brick will soak it up. Expect several layers.

  1. You need a fireplace screen and it would be perfect.
