Church Picture
Rarely do I see something on Instagram and think, "Oh, I have to have that!" There are lots of, "Ooooh, that's pretty!" or "If I found that at a yard sale, wouldn't that be awesome?" Now, let's clear up the "have" part...I don't have to "have" anything, but the church theme (being a pastor's home, here), the colors matching my dresser, and the fact that it came from Kirklands so it would be closer to my budget than some fancy online company had me reeeeeealllly wanting this picture. *Yes, I'm fully aware that previous sentence would flunk me out of English grammar class.
We were in town with a Kirklands and so I ran in to see if they had them. There was one on the shelf and I picked it up, but there was no price tag. I sat it back down and wandered around the store. Finally, I decided to just ask the cashier and if it was too much, I'd just turn it down. After more than one person looking it up in their data base and finally finding it in their books behind the counter, they found the price and it was even on sale! Saweet!
For now, I have it above my dresser. It's a different shape than most pics, so it was a little more challenging to style. And, if you've been around here for awhile, you know it'll move eventually. ;)

Fresh Neutral Mantel
I keep waffling back and forth. For summer, I toss some bright colors here and there in my living room, some fun coral pillows, some turquoise touches... and I love it for a while. But I always start craving my neutrals before too long. I'm excited to get my soft and calming neutrals back for fall.
Seriously, who doesn't love Magnolia Market. I drool over everything in their online store. I'm trying to figure out a way to just buy one of everything they have without my hubby knowing about it... Ha, not really, but wouldn't it be awesome?! A local furniture store carries the Magnolia Home furniture line, and I just couldn't resist getting one of these Cathedral Windows frames. It was exactly what my mantel needed.
I also LOVE the vintage inspired corbels from Magnolia Market, but I decided to go a bit cheaper and DIY some for myself. I got a couple of cheap unfinished corbels from Home Depot, gave them a quick chalk paint and distress treatment, and voila - cute little corbels for under 15 bucks. They aren't quite as gorgeous as Joanna's but they'll pass if you use your imagination. And squint a little.... ;)

Home Sweet Home
I am a completely hopelessly incurable home body. A good day to me is any day I don't have to go anywhere. I do love a good vacation, but I always love coming back home. So when I saw this sign recently, I knew it was for me. Home is my happy place.
I don't really even have a good spot for it, but when you see something you love, sometimes you just gotta create a spot for it!
